About Dr. Knecht

Ada Knecht, DOM, is an experienced acupuncturist, specializing in pain management, electrotherapy, injection therapy, Chinese herbal medicine, and substance detoxification at Artemedica Miami Center for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine, located in Miami, Florida. Ada's goal is to help take pain away and add more joy into the lives of her patients.

As a compassionate, highly-skilled, Oriental Medicine practitioner, Ada understands how pain can interfere with and limit a patient's life. For instance, many seniors are living with multiple chronic illnesses and routinely experience unmitigated pain. Her goal is to help relieve their suffering so they can enjoy fuller and active pain-free lives.

Ada completed undergraduate studies at the University of Florida in Gainesville and Florida International University in Miami. She earned her Doctor of Oriental Medicine degree from the Southeast Institute of Oriental Medicine in Miami, Florida, where she graduated second in her class. Ada also received advanced training as an acupuncture detox specialist at Lincoln Hospital in The Bronx, New York, and in acupoint injection therapy from the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Prior to joining Artemedica Miami Center for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine, Ada trained neurosurgeons, neurologists, pain management physicians, and physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists in P-STIM therapy to help patients alleviate pain. She also integrated acupuncture, Chinese medicine, and injection therapy in treatment plans for patients with cancer, alcohol and/or nicotine addictions, and those in weight control and stress management programs.

Ada’s professional associations include the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, the American Acupuncture Council, and the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association.

Outside of the office, Ada enjoys practicing Bikram yoga, scuba diving, reading, and spending time with her husband, two sons, and Snow, their family cat. She has traveled to some of the world's most beautiful places, including her favorite, Queensland, Australia. Someday, she hopes to visit the Greek Isles. Ada speaks both English and Cantonese.
