It all started about ten years ago. The pain, that is. I developed urinary tract infection and shortly after kidney stones, in which doctors had no explanation for their causes. I would visit urologists on a monthly basis and thousands of dollars later, the pain was still there. I was given a few options: surgery, taking medicine for the rest of my life, or absolutely nothing. It got to the point where pain just became part of my normal life.
I went from getting urinary tract infections from every 3 months, to every month, then to every week. Not only were they becoming more frequent, but more painful as well. June 30th came along and I developed a tremendous kidney stone, which sent me straight to the hospital. At that point, I knew that I needed to find something to cure it.
Eva had been my neighbor and before long, my client. As the kind and warm-hearted person that she is, she asked how I was feeling because she knew a bit about my problems. Since she specializes in nephrology (kidney’s problems) as well, she gave me a quick lecture about acupuncture, how it works, and how it would benefit me. I am not going to lie, at first; I was petrified because I had never tried alternative medicine. The thought of a cure other than medicine and surgery seemed bizarre to me. However, Eva had this look of passion in her eyes that convinced me this would really help.
I began my first treatment in November for approximately three months and believe it or not, it all went away. What years of medicine couldn’t do, acupuncture fixed. Not only did my pain go away, but I also learned how to eat properly and manage my stress. I am now a true believer that acupuncture works and highly recommend it for anything, especially with Eva.
